Shields has more recently collaborated with actor Colton Haynes to produce a series of works the comments on sexuality and celebrity. “Every single time we work together we push boundaries and make incredible art” Haynes commented.
Shields recently opened up about his creative friendship and how Hayne’s openness about his sexuality has affected their new joint project. “There are few people who understand what I do as much as him…It’s amazing to see him since he came out, how free he is now. Of course it happened on his own time, but I am so happy for him he’s free now,” says Shields.

The Witches by Shields is one of his iconic works and has recently been auctioned at Sotheby’s last month. This chromogenic print sold at the London location in the May Photographs Auction.
